Prologue
for orchestra, string quartet and electronics
about
The instrumentation of Prologue corresponds to Bernd Alois Zimmermann’s piece Musique pour les soupers du Roi Ubu – a deconstructed orchestra without the whole string body. In Prologue, the orchestra is joined by an amplified string quartet, and electronic sounds support the movement of the sounds in space. The orchestra is distributed in 7 groups in the room and frames the audience. Separated from the dance theater Batailles d’Images, Prologue can be played as an independent orchestral piece as well as in combination with Zimmermann’s composition.
